OLA FILM INSTITUTE
What began in 2017 as a dream and a shared vision between Victor Caballero and Rogelio Almeida has grown into one of Oklahoma’s most inspiring film education programs. In the beginning, it was simply a group of weekend film workshops, created to give young people a space to learn, create, and tell their stories through film.
Those early sessions were filled with passion and possibility. Students learned how to write, shoot, and edit their first short films, often discovering talents and confidence they never knew they had. From those humble beginnings, the program evolved into what is now the OLA Film Institute, an established and thriving platform for emerging filmmakers.
Over the years, dozens of students have taken part in the program. Some have gone on to study film or start their own creative projects, while others have pursued different careers, carrying with them the lessons of teamwork, creativity, and perseverance.
Today, the Institute continues to grow through strong partnerships with deadCenter Education and Oklahoma City University, expanding opportunities for students to learn from industry professionals and collaborate in real-world environments.
From a simple idea to a formal institute, this journey has always been about giving voice to those who dream of telling their stories and inspiring the next generation to believe in El Poder del Cine, The Power of Cinema.
